Style Your Bump: My Favorite Maternity Fashion Looks

This post is brought to you by Kohl's.

Special thanks to my dear friend, Niina from Life Beyond the Picket Fence who took these photos for me. Otherwise, you guys would be looking at a whole lot of bathroom selfies!

Last month when I traveled to Utah to attend SNAP! Conference (read all about it here), I was a very round 8 months pregnant with Creative Green Baby #2. Even though I was super pregnant, I still wanted a chance to look cute while there. Sure, yoga pants and t-shirts are great for lounging on the couch or working from home but who couldn't use an extra dose of confidence and that awesome feeling from knowing you look cute, too - especially when growing a new little person?

I'm so glad I was able to partner with Kohl's to be my fashion sponsor while at the conference. I love shopping at Kohl's for lots of reasons - including that they are converting several of their stores (including those in my area) to run on solar power as well as be LEED certified AND they provide free electric car charging at most of their locations in the Portland area (not to mention lots of other places around the country).

But let's take a look at the clothes, shall we? Now, I always want to know what size models are when I look at clothes so I can get a better idea for how those same clothes might look on me, so I'll go ahead and tell you that all of these clothes are size XL and I'm normally a size 16 when I'm not pregnant - and I am oh so very pregnant!

Conference Day 1 Look
For the first day of the conference, I chose this super comfortable striped maxi dress from Oh Baby by Motherhood. The stripes on the dress are navy and khacki and I chose to pair it with a non-maternity lightweight white denim jacket from Sonoma. The earrings are from Apt 9. and the necklace is from Croft & Barrow.

This dress is a super comfortable knit fabric and it has a lot of stretch. It fits well more because of the fabric and less because of the cut - making it perfect for your whole pregnancy. I love this dress enough that I'm hoping I can keep wearing it post-baby as well!

Conference Day 2 Look
This is probably my favorite outfit I wore the whole time I was at SNAP! Words cannot tell you how much I love this cream lace top from Oh Baby by Motherhood. It's very comfortable, the fit is flattering and I love the pretty lace. I paired it with jewelry from Apt 9 and grey straight leg maternity slacks. Luckily Kohl's sells some similar tops that are non-maternity so I'll need to pick up one of those once the baby is here.

If you pick up this shirt in a store, please note that while there is a faux cami built into the front of this top, I did feel like the back was a little too sheer so I wore a white maternity cami underneath to feel more covered and less worried about flashing my bra to anyone walking behind me.

Conference Day 3 Look
I really love this Apt 9 necklace so I wore it again on the third day. This time, though, I wore it with a striped maxi skirt and a white ruched t-shirt, both from Oh Baby by Motherhood. Over the top, I layered a pink slubbed cardigan from Croft & Barrow and used a skinny belt to hold it together over my belly.

The "secret fit belly" built into the skirt is great. It provides a gentle but snug hold on my belly to keep pants and skirts up without needing an extra belly band to help hold everything together.

Travel Looks
(My son was asking the baby what it wanted for lunch in this photo)

When you're traveling, comfort is key. While the dress and skirt would both be great for travel because they are comfortable, I wanted to wear pants since I opt out of the back scatter machines at the airport and getting a pat down in a skirt is awkward. These jeans from Oh Baby by Motherhood have the same great "secret fit belly" panel that my maxi skirt does which keeps them up nicely. I paired them with a pink ruched tank and a white cardigan from Chaps.

I also picked up a pretty pink open weave infinity scarf which was great for traveling as well. It dressed up a plain t-shirt quite nicely and is great for overly air conditioned spaces to keep you from getting a chill. (don't worry, these are the only two smart phone selfies I'll subject you to)

A huge thanks again to Kohl's for keeping me comfortable and stylish while attending SNAP! Be sure to check the looks I showed here in stores or online.

Thanks again to Niina at Life Beyond the Picket Fence for her time spent photographing me and keeping you from being subjected to a barrage of smart phone selfies.
