How to Make No Sew Upcycled Fabric Bookmarks

I've featured some of Niki's projects on Creative Green Living before so I'm thrilled that she agreed to share a brand new, unique project with you while I'm taking some time off from blogging to prep for and recover from having our sweet new babe. Be sure to visit her site, Homemadeville, for lots more great crafty inspiration.

I will be the first to admit I am a little intimidated by my sewing machine.  I know how to sew, but I still try to avoid dragging out the machine, threading the needle, and all the headaches that come with full-on sewing projects.  That's why I love the double-sided adhesive fabric sheets.  They make is so easy to craft with fabric without sewing a thing.  Today, I want to show you how you can make an easy fabric bookmark.

Directions

Step 1: Cut
Rough cut  your fabric.  Make sure you have a bit more than you need.  Helpful green hint: when I need just a small amount of fabric, I always head to the clothes I have recently discarded to see if anything fits the bill.  It saves time and money.

Step 2: Stick
Peel back one side of the adhesive sheet. Carefully place fabric on the sheet.  Press to adhere.

Repeat on the other side.

Step 3: Cut
Cut the fabric and adhesive sheet into the shape you want for your bookmark.

Step 4: Embellish
Embellish Bookmark, as desired.  I added a Felt Football, since this one was for my husband.

This no-sew, upcycled bookmark is a great gift or party favor that is quick and affordable.
