Quick and Easy Recycled Candle Holders

I've talked before about my large glass jar collection. Not only are glass jars great for holding leftovers, but they make a great craft medium as well. (see all my projects using glass jars here!).

For this project, you can transform empty glass jars into lacey votive candle holders in less than 15 minutes with just a handful of supplies.

Directions

STEP 1: Punch

Insert one edge of the paper into the punch, starting about 1/4 inch from the left edge.

Press down on the punch and release. Slide the paper to the left, lining up the holes in the paper with the guide. Continue punching until you are 1/4" - 1/2" inch from the right edge of the paper.

STEP 2: Trim

Use scissors to trim line of "lace" away from the rest of the paper.

STEP 3: Tape

Wrap "lace" around the glass jar and secure on the back side with tape. Repeat.

STEP 4: Variation:

For another variation, cut a piece of paper the height of the sides of your jar. Punch out both edges but leaving them attached. Wrap around a jar and secure with tape.

STEP 5: Assemble

Collect a few different glass jars and decorate them with different styles of punched lace. Add candles and enjoy!

That's it!
