Hi, I'm Carissa!

I want to show you that making healthier choices can be both BEAUTIFUL & DELICIOUS!

I started blogging about crafts and DIY in 2006 but when my first son was born in 2010, my heart turned green!

When that happened, I started using my blogging platform to share about our journey to make healthier choices for my family.

On Creative Green Living, you can find easy and delicious recipes, crafts, DIY projects, gardening tips and hacks as well as green product guides - all with a focus on healthier, green options!

In addition to owning and operating Creative Green Living, I am a book author, public speaker, TV personality and advocate for children's health issues.

My advocacy work focuses mainly on lead and other toxins as well as protecting the Uniter States' most medically vulnerable children.

You can catch me on a regular basis on KATU Afternoon Live (check out some of my past segments here) - the local ABC affiliate station in Portland, Oregon.

Keep up with what I am doing on TV, traveling or speaking by following Carissa Bonham on Facebook.

My Family

Once upon a time, I used to be married. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. Now I'm a single mom and I live with my kids just outside of beautiful Portland, Oregon.

Past CGL articles may still reference my former husband (who was my husband at the time I wrote them). I was married for a long time and have decided not to redact the articles - because that's a lot of articles! Thanks for understanding.

My first son, K, is a true miracle baby! You can read his story here.

My youngest's story isn't quite so dramatic but I still love sharing it. You can read Baby A's birth story here.
