how to make cherry limeade popsicles

Do you love cherry limeade? Do you ever wish you could turn your cherry limeade into a popsicle? Not just any popsicle, of course. Not a hard popsicle but the type of popsicle that is soft and easy to suck pieces off of.

Not only is this popsicle recipe the answer all your cherry limeade popsicle dreams, but it has a secret ingredient: zucchini! I know, I know. It sounds weird. But TRUST ME. This recipe won an award in a summer dessert cooking competition in 2014 when it was up against all kinds of things that didn't have weird vegetables in it. This recipe is GOOD.

Chippy Farmhouse style picture frame - i love you to the moon and back
On a recent trip to my local craft store, I fell in love with a premade pallet-style board and decided to turn it into a frame to use in The Farmhouse.

I love the rustic feel of the pallet and the chippy, distressed look of the little frame.

The whole thing oozes "modern farmhouse chic" - which is the style we're using for our new house. I absolutely love it!

You can pick up everything you need for this craft at Craft Warehouse (a Pacific Northwest craft chain). For the rest of you, check out Hobby Lobby (which, as far as I can tell, carries similar items). I've included links below for similar items I found on Amazon and other retailers.

The heat and I do not get along. I'm not sure how the people in Arizona do it. Portland has had an usual number of super hot days this summer and a steady stream of popsicles has definitely been part of my coping strategy. Not only do these popsicles include fruit but the Alo beverage is super hydrating and good for you, too.

My little guy loves to give us presents. It's pretty common for him to come in from a walk with a rock or a flower for the parent who stayed behind. Over time, we've developed quite the rock collection and needed a place to keep them all.

This Dad Rocks jar is a perfect Christmas gift for the Mom, Dad, Aunt or Grandparent always receiving stony presents from the kids in their lives. Plus it reminds them how awesome they are at the same time.

Slowly but surely, the command center I've been working on since January is coming together. So far, I've shown you my personalized mail boxes and a family monogram. This family frame is one of the last things I need. It only cost a couple dollars and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

*A note about cartridges: Parts of my family / swirl graphic combination come from all three cartridges listed. If you don't already happen to have them, you could get a similar look by just purchasing the Best Images of 2008 cartridge which has the "family" graphic that I used as well as some different swirl shapes.

DIY easy Christmas bulbs #creativegreenliving
These ornaments are quick and easy to make and are a great project to do with kids or beginning crafters (the blue ornament in the photo was made by a nine year old girl!). Really, I'm not sure if you could design a better project: quick, easy and affordable.

Materials Needed:

Step 1: Take the top off the bulb ornament

Step 2: Use a brush to paint some Mod Podge inside the bottom of the ornament.
(pretty much any formula Mod Podge will do. In a pinch, you could also use watered down white glue)

Step 3: Add some glitter
Shake it around to cover all of the Mod Podge. I used a mix of chunky glitter from the dollar store and fine glitter from the $1 section of Michaels.
Pro tip:  Use a popsicle stick or funnel to scoop the glitter into the ornament without making a mess

Step 4: Cut out a rub-on and apply
Use the popsicle stick to rub hard over the word to apply it to the surface. When you're done, peel it off slowly to make sure the whole thing stuck. If needed, replace the film and continue rubbing until the full word is adhered.

Step 5: Set aside to dry
You can return the top right away if you're a anxious to hang them on the tree. They will dry faster, however, if you leave the top off. It may take up a full day (or more if you put the tops back on) for the white from the Mod Podge to disappear completely.

Keep repeating the process with different glitter colors until you have your own sparkly jewel toned ornament collection. I did a variety of small ones and then made a large one and added some blue and silver dollar store bells to the side for an embellishment.
