Fancy Drinks for Valentine's Day (and Personalized Straw Tutorial!)

Do you have a Valentine's Day party coming up? Even if you're not planning a party yourself, setting up fun surprises for your kids like these fancy Valentine's Day drinks (with personalized straws!) is just plain fun. The straw flags are easy to make - you could make enough for a whole class for just a couple dollars.

Step 1: Make the Tags
Peel the chalkboard stickers off the backing and stick them to the BACK of a piece of patterned scrapbook paper - with about an inch of the sticker extending beyond the edge. Write the names on the stickers with chalk or a dry erase crayon. I prefer the Crayola Dry Erase Crayons because they are harder to accidentally wipe off than chalk.

Use scissors to trim around the edges of the stickers.

Step 2: Wrap the straws
Apply the labels to the straws by wrapping the sticky part around the straw and adhering it back on itself like so:

Step 3: Prep the Drinks
To make a gradient drink like in my pictures, fill a handled drinking jar 2/3 full of ice. Pour a sweet pink drink like Santa Cruz Organic Raspberry Lemonade until the glass is a little less than half full. Add sparkling water to the top and do not stir. Add the personalized straws and serve.
