How to Make a Patriotic Cake Stand from Dollar Store Supplies

It's been almost 3 weeks since Creative Green Baby #2 made his debut and I've been so blessed by other bloggers who have been willing to create projects for the site so I can take some time off for maternity leave. Today's guest is Audrey of Dreaming About Someday. She whipped up a cute little cake plate that is easy to make last minute. It's the perfect addition to any Fourth of July party!

Supplies

  • Glass candlestick (this one is from the dollar store)
  • Martini glass (this one is from the dollar store)
  • 3 plates of various sizes (the ones pictured are from Target)
  • Martha Stewart Metallic Gold Paint
  • Martha Stewart Acrylic Glitter Paint
  • E6000® Craft Adhesive

  • Some of the links in my supply lists may be affiliate links.

    Directions

    Step 1: Paint
Paint candlestick and martini glass with 2-3 coats (depending on how much coverage you want) of gold  paint making sure it dries between coats. Add 1 coat of glitter paint. Allow all paint to dry completely.

    Step 2: Glue
Attach plate to glass with glue. The glass can either be right side up or upside down. E-6000 does not dry immediately so you can change placement if needed. Repeat using candlestick and top plate.

Wait 24 hours for glue to cure completely.

Add cookies or cupcakes and enjoy!
